 There are a number of tests available at Equilibrium Natural Health which may be recommended depending on each individual client. These tests have been researched for quality and reliability.

As well as regular pathology testing, some of the other tests available include;

 

Hair Test 500 For 500 Foods and Other Household Items

 You don’t have to suffer through life. Let your hair unlock the secrets to a healthier and happier you.

 When to use this test:

 If you are suffering with skin problems, eczema, unusual rashes, psoriasis; digestive issues such as bloating, indigestion, irritable bowel, constipation; arthritis; children with behaviour issues; any and all issues of health and particularly those related to inflammation. It is a non intrusive test ideal for children.

 (coloured hair is okay to use, if you don’t have hair we use saliva)

 It is important to note that this hair analysis test is VERY different from an HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis)

 The Bio-Compatibility System is the result of 30 years of research and development.

 This test does not compare with any other test, hair or otherwise. It is completely different approach as we are testing at a much deeper level. By feeding the body in line with the Bio-compatibility test results we are enhancing cellular function. Correct cellular function leads to good organ function. Good organ function leads to good immunity and elimination, NATURALLY.

The Technology behind Bio-Compatibility testing

The technique is based on the way in which the foods and products we use affect the flow of energy through the body. If the energy systems within the body are compromised in any way by a food/product that is biologically incompatible, the cells cannot function optimally. This may lead to an immune response, inflammation, and ultimately reactive symptoms.Using hair samples, Bio-Compatibility testing identifies the influence (either positive or negative) that each of a wide range of foods and products has on the delivery and storage systems in each cell. In this way, we are then able to determine which foods and products should be avoided and which should be consumed/used.The Bio-Compatibility System complements and integrates easily with any other therapy or medication by simply removing foods and household items that are testing negative for your particular body.

What our hair analysis test covers

The standard Australian test covers a list of over 500 standard items – including all food groups, bathroom, laundry, and kitchen products.This includes common local brands (specific to each country in which the test is conducted) found in supermarkets and health food stores. Each item is tested in the form it is usually consumed (both raw and cooked where applicable).We have two more speciality lists — one for testing Australian Baby (we have had a lot of success helping mums and babies with troublesome symptoms) and another for pets. We are also able to perform an additional test for compatibility against your patient’s pet’s fur/feathers provided a sample of the relevant pet’s fur/feathers is provided.

Iridology

Using an Iridology camera, a photo is taken of the coloured part (iris) of each eye and then assessed. It will help me to determine in which system or organ your inherent strengths and deficiencies may be located.

 Iridology may help to understand your genetic potential, health tendencies, your particular constitution, any nutritional deficiencies, under-active or over-active organs and systems, inflammation (which may be acute or chronic) and possible circulatory problems. It may help understand what is causing gut problems and whether you are absorbing adequate nutrients or if in fact there is toxicity from a leaky gut. Iridology cannot be used to diagnose diseases, it is used to interpret what is going on and helps to pinpoint  where the cause of the symptoms are and which systems may be needing support.

The iris contains bundles of thousands of nerve fibres and is a reflection of the entire body. Through these nerves it is connected to every organ and tissue via the brain and the nervous system through the optic nerve.

 

Hair, Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

An HTMA is a safe and non-invasive pathology test. It measures the levels and comparative ratios of nutrient and toxic minerals found in hair. HTMA is regarded by many doctors, naturopaths and nutritional therapists as one of the most valuable screening tools available in everyday and preventative health care. Getting our nutrients from food is the ideal way, but with mono-farming techniques, depleted soils, particular health complaints such as reduced absorption and leaky gut as well as exposure to various elements that increase or compete for absorbency of other elements, our particular nutrient status may not be optimal.

Many health conditions may be aggravated by mineral imbalances and toxic metal excesses, including; cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, emotional wellbeing, migraines, learning difficulties and hyperactivity in children, to name just a few. Using HTMA to test for the balance of minerals and toxic elements, gives us an insight into what may need to be removed, increased or balanced.

 

Food Sensitivity Blood Tests

Food Cytotoxic Testing is a blood test that screens for possible sensitivity reactions to specific foods, chemicals, additives, sweeteners and colours. It tests for intolerance or sensitivity reactions which is a far more manageable method rather than a complete elimination diet which is commonly used to determine suspect chemicals or additives which need to be eliminated or rotated in the diet.

The way the testing is carried out is it exposes white blood cells to common foods, artificial colours, flavours,  sweeteners,  agricultural, industrial and domestic chemicals and may allow detection of possible trace exposures resulting in sensitivities and avoidance against future contact.

 

Organic Acids Test

The Organic Acids Test (OAT) provides an accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast and bacteria. Abnormally high levels of these micro-organisms can cause or worsen behaviour disorders, hyperactivity, movement disorders, fatigue and immune function. Many people with chronic illnesses and neurological disorders often excrete several abnormal organic acids. The cause of these high levels could include: oral antibiotic use, high sugar diets, immune deficiencies, and genetic factors.

If abnormalities are detected using the OAT, treatments can include supplements, such as vitamins and antioxidants, or dietary modification. Upon treatment, patients and practitioners have reported significant improvement such as decreased fatigue, regular bowel function, increased energy and alertness, increased concentration, improved verbal skills, less hyperactivity, and decreased abdominal pain. The OAT is strongly recommended as the initial screening test.

 

Urinary Kryptopyrrole Testing

Pyroluria is a condition which indicates an excess of pyrroles, which will interfere with vitamin B6 and zinc metabolism. This will then have a direct impact on behaviour symptoms commonly seen in conditions such as; ADD, ADHD, ODD, Bipolar, aggression, depression and schizophrenia.

This is a urine test which will determine the presence of urinary pyrroles.

 

MTHFR Gene Mutation

The MTHFR gene, technically called Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase, is a key enzyme required to metabolise homocysteine. Mutations of MTHFR can cause high blood levels of homocysteine, particularly if their diet is low in folate.

It may affect fertility in both sexes, mood disorders and mental health, autism spectrum disorders and the risk of venous thrombosis.
